Audacity is a free, cross-platform sound editor and recorder distributed in several languages. With a set of useful sound modifying effects as well as a few sound generation effects, anybody can record or modify their own audio tracks with a few clicks. You can also use Audacity to convert tapes and records into digital audio formats and convert an existing audio file to a different format, not to mention the possible functionality presented by user-made plug-ins. It's easy to learn and extremely useful for anybody who wants to produce quality audio files.
